How we use it and why we are allowed to

UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) requires a lawful basis for each use of personal information. Ours are:

What we doLawful basis
Reply to your enquiry and arrange callsLegitimate interests (responding to people who contact us)
Deliver projects, invoice and manage our contract with youPerformance of a contract
Keep financial and tax recordsLegal obligation
Contact businesses by email about services that may be relevant to themLegitimate interests (promoting our services to businesses)
Research companies and prepare personalised messages, including with AI toolsLegitimate interests (making our outreach relevant and brief)
Keep our website secure and measure how our outreach performs (for example replies and meetings)Legitimate interests
Keep a record of people who asked not to be contactedLegal obligation and legitimate interests (so we never contact them again)

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have balanced our interests against your rights. We only contact people in their professional role, about services relevant to their business, and we make opting out easy.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects on you. A person at CodinSol reviews every outreach email before it is sent.

Business outreach and opting out

We may send a short series of up to three emails to people at businesses we think could benefit from our services. We only use work email addresses, and every email says who we are and how to stop further messages.

You can opt out at any time, free of charge:

When you opt out, we stop contacting you straight away. We keep only your name, email address and the date you opted out on a suppression list, so we do not contact you again by mistake.

International transfers

Some of our service providers, and some members of our team, are based outside the UK, including in the United States and Pakistan. When personal information leaves the UK, we make sure it stays protected by using one of the safeguards UK law allows:
